Over 120 Million Euros in Revenue: ZIM Closes Fiscal Year 2025 in the Black

Immenstaad, 7 April 2026 – The ZIM Aircraft Seating Group generated revenue of more than 120 million euros in fiscal year 2025 and closed the year with a positive bottom line. Five years after the slump to around 17 million euros in the pandemic year 2020, the company has thus not only clearly exceeded its pre-crisis level but fundamentally changed its scale.

Retrofit accounts for two thirds of the business
The growth driver is the replacement of existing cabins. Seats are replaced on average roughly every eight years – arithmetically, around four times in the life of an aircraft. Around two thirds of revenue currently comes from this retrofit business. In the original-equipment business, by contrast, delivery delays at Airbus and Boeing are acting as a brake: a seat can only be delivered once the aircraft is built.

Over 100,000 seats delivered
In total, ZIM has now delivered more than 100,000 aircraft seats. The Group operates at three sites in Germany and the USA and supplies, in addition to the Lufthansa Group, customers including SWISS, Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Cathay Pacific. For an independent manufacturer in a market shaped by a few large corporations, this customer base is the real substance behind the revenue figure.

Investment in capacity
To meet rising demand, ZIM has begun the announced expansion of its Markdorf production site. The project includes new production lines and additional warehouse space. In addition, ZIM is taking over premises of neighbouring companies and integrating them into its own production flow. This streamlines processes and creates synergies across departmental boundaries. The investment is in the millions and is intended to double production capacity at the site.

Statement by Raffael Rogg, Group CEO
“In our industry, black figures are not a given but the result of five years of consistent work,” says Raffael Rogg. “Our ambition for the coming years is not growth at any price, but growth that we can deliver and certify.”
