ZIM Aircraft Seating begins major expansion of its Markdorf facility amid continued growth in global demand for premium passenger seats

Markdorf, Germany – October 9th, 2025 – ZIM Aircraft Seating GmbH, a leading manufacturer of premium aircraft seating solutions, has started a significant expansion of its production site in Markdorf, Germany. The development signifies a strategic investment in the company’s continued growth, innovation prowess, and international competitiveness.

The expansion project, which includes the construction of new production lines and storage facilities, represents a multi-million investment aimed at strengthening ZIM’s global supply chain and enhancing its capacity to meet rising demand from major international airlines and aircraft manufacturers. With this development, ZIM will significantly increase its production capacity, further positioning the company as a key player in the global aircraft seating market.

As part of the project, ZIM will also take over facilities from neighboring companies and integrate them into its production flow. This step is designed to optimize manufacturing processes, increase efficiency and create synergies across departments.
