Immenstaad on Lake Constance, March 30, 2021 – ZIM Flugsitz GmbH will in future operate under the new company name “ZIM Aircraft Seating GmbH” and with a new brand identity. At the same time, the company is moving into new headquarters at the historic aviation site of Immenstaad on Lake Constance.
Renaming as part of the realignment
The renaming is part of the company's realignment: it builds on past successes and reflects ZIM's development into an international provider for the design, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft seats.
New design in royal blue
The change of name is accompanied by a new design, most visible in the company logo in royal blue. The color is intended to convey safety, reliability and calm, and evokes the sky in which ZIM's aircraft seats operate.
Relocation of headquarters and engineering
Almost simultaneously, ZIM is relocating its headquarters, including the engineering department, to a considerably larger, modern office building on the Dornier Mole in Immenstaad – directly opposite the Airbus plant. The site is a major step forward in more than functional terms: aerospace history was written at this location. The immediate proximity to Airbus and the presence in an internationally renowned aviation environment lend the new headquarters particular strategic significance. Size, facilities and location create the conditions for more efficient engineering processes, higher productivity and closer collaboration across departmental and national boundaries. At the same time, they make visible the ambition to develop ZIM into a professional, internationally oriented and globally competitive company.
Designed for further headcount growth
The premises on the outskirts of Immenstaad provide space for the current workforce of more than 50 employees in administration and engineering and are designed for further growth. Short distances strengthen the teamwork that requires direct coordination between everyone involved and encourage exchange between business units. Quiet zones, a cafeteria and a room with a foosball table provide balance.
Markdorf remains, new service site in Schwerin-Brüsewitz
Markdorf remains the manufacturing and production site. In January, ZIM also moved into a new service site in Schwerin-Brüsewitz. The former production site in Schwerin was closed and converted into a repair and maintenance operation that meets future requirements. A modern, aviation-compliant hall and office space are available there.
