Markdorf Mayor Georg Riedmann visits ZIM Aircraft Seating GmbH

Since March 2020, the majority of the company ZIM Aircraft Seating has been part of the Munich-based Aurelius Group, which specializes in turn-around cases, and was only recently able to win a major contract worth tens of millions of euros from the Lufthansa Group. Mayor Georg Riedmann and treasurer Michael Lissner recently visited the company, as reported by the city of Markdorf in a press release.

“ZIM has successfully completed the refurbishment and restructuring phase, has been in the black again since 2021 and is now in the growth phase again,” says Stephan Leibold, CFO of ZIM Aircraft Seating GmbH, who, like Sven Achilles, has plenty of restructuring experience. The company based in Immenstaad has an assembly plant in Markdorf with currently five production lines and around 60 employees.

If CEO Sven Achilles plans, the production area will have to be roughly doubled in the next few years to reflect the planned growth. That is why ZIM is looking for expansion areas. Stephan Leibold adds: “Since we have many employees who live and live in Markdorf and the surrounding area, it would be ideal if we could build a new assembly plant in Markdorf. ”
According to Mayor Georg Riedmann and city treasurer Michael Lissner, there is now also a concrete opportunity and opportunity for ZIM thanks to the new industrial park that has been created in Markdorf. “We would be delighted if ZIM would implement its growth plans in Markdorf,” says Riedmann.
