Immenstaad, December 23rd, 2021
ZIM Aircraft Seating today announced the expansion of its headquarters in Immenstaad on Lake Constance. Additional office space will be occupied as early as January 1, 2022. A new model shop with a design department for the market-driven development of future products will be opened by April 2022. In addition, the headquarters will be expanded to include an automated test center and a new customer service area with modern repair and maintenance facilities.
Immediately after the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic, the ZIM management decided to realign the corporate structure in order to be able to better serve future orders and to increase the efficiency of the processes within the company. The new headquarters in Immenstaad was just opened in March 2021. With the upcoming expansion, ZIM is now tripling its activities at the Immenstaad location.
Despite the ongoing weakness in the aviation industry, ZIM was able to secure a large number of new orders in the past few months. In addition, ZIM expects an increasing demand for repair measures and maintenance work on aircraft seats on existing aircrafts, which are now brought back into service after a long period of standstill due to capacity reductions of the airlines, or were improperly used for the transport of cargo during the Covid-19 pandemic, which has led to increased wear and tear on the passenger seats.
“The investment into our location expansion is a clear commitment to our employees and the region,” emphasizes ZIM CEO Sven Achilles. “We have a social responsibility that is independent of time, and which we also live up to by creating structures that will make us competitive in the future.”
The location as well as the size and equipment of the new offices have a positive influence on efficiency, productivity and corporate identity that should not be underestimated. The attractive office concept with short distances strengthens teamwork, which usually requires direct coordination with everyone involved, and at the same time promotes communication between the various business areas.
